'Coral Jade' (Mak-Leek)
'Coral Jade' (Mak-Leek)
Something new and very, very special! Master hybridizer Johan Mak’s newest Asiapets bring us new forms and color patterns in this so-difficult-for-breeding group! These hybrids carry the genes of the drought-resistant trumpets plus the disease resistance and elongateed, many-budded infloresence of Lilium davidii, broadend by an additional generation of strong garden Asiatic genes!
‘Coral Jade’ (Mak), shows a new color in this group, with its broad-petalled outfacing flowers of smoky coral-red, slowing shading into a clearer, lighter coral as the flowers age. And yes, this new generation does pass the “smell test,” carrying the fragrance of its trumpet grandparent in a lighter but distinctly sweet scent. 3 to 4 feet and eventually taller, late June.
